The Aquabot Turbo Robotic pool cleaner comes in three models – the T, T2 and T4RC. Since the latter is the newest and best of these, we will focus on it in this review. It begs to be mentioned that we do not even recommend the older models in comparison to the T4RC. This pool cleaner is a super high end product and consequently expensive – but well worth its price. At the time of this review it is between $1170 and $1670 depending on the model. On first glance, we find the T4RC huge but good looking and interesting in the sense that it comes with a remote control, which is what the “RC” in its model number stands for. Great cleaning capability is one thing, but also having a lot of fun driving the cleaner around the pool like an exotic remote controlled car is an option that we enjoyed very much. This is how the tedious task of pool cleaning can turn into a lot of fun, or perhaps a man’s toy? If you don’t want to control the T4RC yourself, it will automatically clean your whole pool in the record time of less than one hour. It can spot clean individual areas, in which case you need to use the remote control to navigate the Aquabot to the spot you want it to clean. Another use of the remote control is the ability to navigate the Aquabot through unique pool configurations, which other cleaners can get in trouble with. But even if it runs on auto pilot, its detection system does a great job avoiding obstacles. Also, the internal computer doesn’t waste time learning the geometry of your pool or ending up cleaning areas multiple times and missing other areas. It is the fast and efficient way in which the Aquabot operates that we like best. All you really need to do is drop it in the water and let it run for an hour, that’s all. The Aquabot Turbo uses a rotating quad brush system to scrub the surface of your pool and take care of debris, while its jets flush dirt of all kinds out of the corners, surface pores and other spots that are hard to reach. At the same time, its pump motor sucks in and circulates water to trap every particle down to micro-organisms inside its reusable filter bag. A lower priced alternative to the Aquabot, although slower but very reliable and durable, is the Polaris 280. Features and Specifications
Aquabot Turbo T4RC Customer Reviews What do other people think about this cleaner? Customer reviews of the Aquabot have been positive for the T4RC model, while reviews of the older models “T” and “T2″ generally speak of a love/hate relationship with the device. As for the T4RC, people report that it operates quietly and effectively and only makes an audible sound once it pops out of the water. Apparently, small twigs, pine needles and cones tend to fill up the filter, which means you might have to clean it in the middle of one cleaning round. In nearly all cases, the cleaner worked very well in the first year. In some cases it got slower and less efficient the second or third year. However, something like this is to be expected from any mechanical device, because there are always a few bad apples in any production line that have nothing to do with the quality of a product itself. Since the Aquabot comes with a 4 year warranty, this should pose no problem. In fact, the customer support has been highly praised – customers with a faulty device got sent a new one quickly and without hassle, and the support staff even called back to ask if the new Aquabot was working fine. A surprisingly good service! Other people report their Aquabot has been working perfectly fine for the 3 or 4+ years they have been using it.
